Welcome to Tyne and Wear Learning Trust

I am delighted to welcome you to Tyne and Wear Learning Trust, a multi-academy trust based in the North East of England. We are a growing trust with 4 schools and 3 early years settings, teaching children from birth to 11 years old to develop into successful learners and achieve their full potential.

The schools in our trust aspire to create outstanding educational settings that promotes educational excellence and enriches the lives of all children in our care. We ensure our staff are supported to deliver high quality education and work in genuine partnerships with families and the wider community. With our high standards and expectations, it is our mission to ensure all children attain the knowledge and skills needed for the next phase of their educational learning journey to enable them to become successful throughout their lives.

Our Trust

We are a growing multi-academy trust in the North East of England.  Our education establishments cover the geographical area of Tyne and Wear and  include primary schools, nurseries, daycares and a community centre.  Our central offices are based in Penshaw, Sunderland.

We aim to work collaboratively, deliver excellence in all we do and ensure we enrich the lives of all the children in our trust.

Barnwell Academy

A primary school located on the foothills of the famous Penshaw Monument in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear. The school has a nursery unit, as well as a private daycare setting and a community centre. Age ranges from 0 – 11 years old. Ofsted rating: Outstanding.

Dunn Street Primary

A primary school located near the historic St Paul’s monastery in Jarrow, Tyne and Wear. The school has a nursery unit and a daycare setting. Age ranges from 2 – 11 years old.  Ofsted rating: Good.

Marine Park Primary

A primary school located near the historic Arbeia Roman fort and the popular parks and beaches of South Shields, Tyne and Wear. The school has a nursery unit and an age range from 3 – 11 years old.  Ofsted rating: Outstanding.

Whitburn Village Primary

A primary school located close to the beautiful countryside and coast of Whitburn, Tyne and Wear. The school has a nursery unit and a daycare setting. Age ranges from 2 – 11 years old.  Ofsted rating: Good.
